What is Lovefest?
Lovefest is the biggest electronic and dance music event in United States. This year over 85 thousand people are expected to show up at the parade with over 20 floats. Lovefest is a massive party that takes place in the middle of the beautiful San Francisco city (lets hope it doesn't rain).
While Americans are struggling with an economic meltdown, ruthless hurricane season and political uncertainty of our future, San Francisco LoveFest will provide some much needed love. San Francisco's biggest street party kicks off Saturday, October 4th at San Francisco LoveFest: A Dance Music Parade and Festival. The parade featuring 28 floats will start at San Francisco's 2nd and Market Streets and continue all the way to Civic Center Plaza for a giant outdoor dance club with the world's top DJs to celebrate at this free all-ages even
Where and When?
How Much?
Its Free! (Although they are asking for $10 donations - Lovefest is a non-profit org)
What to expect and look for!
After Party!
No event/parade is successful without an after party. Lovefest is all about after parties. There are more then a dozen dedicated after parties around the city. The best and the biggest is the LoveFest Official After party by Spundae. Ruby Skye (club) is also going to be another hot spot. Benny Benassi is going to be playing Saturday (october 4), Ferry Corsten on sunday (october 5). Mighty 119, Mist, Opel and other clubs around the city should have some amazing DJs playing. I have posted bunch of flyer pictures below.
Parties I am going to: I will be at lovefest at noon with a few friends and will be going to the Mark Farina after Party or Benny Benassi party. The official after party is too expensive, I have seen most of those guys before and they are going to be playing at the floats so I don't see value in there. If you have never experienced a rave before, I would definitely encourage you to goto the official after party.
Thats all folks. Enjoy and be safe :)

Just came across this article where Peter Thiel talks about lot of different topics that he is passionate about. I am also a big follower on the topic of singularity. There are couple of really good definitions on singularity and associated terms. I really enjoyed the article, you might too. http://www.reason.com/news/show/125469.html
Here is one excerpt I found intriguing.
reason: The folks at the Singularity Institute seem to argue that the rip in the fabric of history would occur with the creation of a greater-than-human intelligence. Is that right?
Thiel: There are a whole slew of versions of this. It could happen with computers. It could happen with enhanced human intelligence, where you have things that modify humans. There are aspects of the biotech revolution that could represent this. There are nanotechnological versions that could be very, very strange. There are all sorts of very bizarrely different versions of this, and it’s very hard to know which of these trends is a dominant one. Maybe they have natural limits to them. Maybe Moore’s Law [the observation in 1965 by Intel co-founder Gordon Moore that the number of transistors incorporated into integrated circuits doubles roughly every two years] breaks down. If Moore’s Law were to stop tomorrow, then I think the hopes for A.I. and computer science may be deferred by centuries. Then the biotech revolution seems to have a lot of promise, but again maybe there are some strange constraints that it runs into.
Another great one.
Every myth on this planet tells us the purpose of life is death, and I don’t think that’s true. I think the purpose of life is life
